Evan the Athlete

We brought Evan to swimming lessons on Saturday morning. He passed the 'Sea Turtle' level and can move on to 'Salamander', but we are keeping him in Sea Turtle for a while yet. He is too young to be in the water by himself yet...perhaps when he turns 4 we'll put him in 'Salamander'. At the Salamander level parents are not allowed in the pool. There is no rush to move him up. He loves swimming - I think he should have been a fish!

After swimming we registered him for soccer - this is the first year he is old enough to play. He's going to look so cute on the soccer field in his jersey and soccer gear. His 'practice' will be two nights a week at 6 pm. That's going to be a rush, but as long as he enjoys it, that's all that matters!

Half Way There

20 weeks down...only 19 more to go. I can't believe how fast time is flying by.

We have so much to buy, paint, decorate before this little one makes his grand appearance. I am starting to feel like we are running out of time.

I just hope the second half of this pregnancy is as goos as the first half.

The mind of a 3-year-old

For the first time this pregnancy we parked in the "Expecting Mothers" parking spot.

Evan wonders out loud "Why does that duck have a garbage bag in his mouth".

This is what he was talking about: (Not the exact sign...you get the jest)

It's a BOY!!

My ultrasound went great. The ultrasound tech was very nice and pointed out all his little parts to me. It was absolutely amazing. I loved watching his little heart beat (140 bpm).

The baby waved at Evan so he was very excited about that.

Everything looks good. He weighs 10 ounces and my due date has been moved up 5 days to September 10th.

My next prenatal appointment is tomorrow, April 23rd.

Here is a pic - his profile looks just like Evan:

Boy or Girl??

For fun and curiosity I completed a couple quizzes online to predict whether I am having a boy or a girl.

The results...

According to a chinese gender predictor - I am having a girl.

According to an Old Wives Tale quiz - I am having a boy.

There you have it folks, I have a 50/50 chance of having one or the other...like I didn't know that already...lol

For the record, I think I am having a boy eventhough this pregnancy is nothing like my pregnancy with Evan. Call it a gut instinct but that is what I 'think' I am having. Although I will be happy with either a boy or a girl...no preference here.

Only 4 more sleeps until we find out for sure. I hope the baby co-operates or Mommy just may go insane.

Rob took out all the baby clothes I had stored in the basement. Mom and I are going to go through all the bins and sort through it all. Sounds like a good way to pass away a couple hours to me.

Exciting Stuff...

A week and a day to the BIG ultrasound...can't wait.

Mom is coming out today so Evan is going on vacation from daycare for a week and a day. He is very excited that Nanny Von is coming to look after him while Daddy is in Toronto and Mommy goes to work. Who wouldn't want to be spoiled and doted on all day long!

Thank god she is coming out - I only have to get myself ready and out the door in the mornings. That will be a HUGE help!!

We will also do some, well actually ALOT of shopping as well. Fun times ahead!!

Easter Plans and Pregnancy Update

We are heading to Buchans tomorrow after work. Rob and I have Team Day at work tomorrow - that ends at 4 so we are hitting the road right after that is over.

The weather is going to be the pits - all weekend - that's April in Newfoundland, what can ya do!

Evan has a Hop-A -Thon for MS today at daycare and tomorrow is his Easter Party. We are making cupcakes tonight for his party tomorrow. He is very excited about the Easter Bunny!

We also have to make Easter cards and pack for our trip tomorrow.

It's going to be a busy night for sure.

No news to report on the pregnancy front. I am feeling great - that's why the second trimester is called the happy trimester I guess. The baby is moving and bouncing around from time to time.
