Jump Marks

Evan was looking at my belly and told me that I have ALOT of jump marks on my belly where his baby brother has been kicking me...you may know the marks by the more common name...stretch marks...lol...he's s funny little dude.

The stretch marks on the other hand are not so funny :(

Ultrasound Update

Had our 34 week ultrasound yesterday. Baby boy is head down and weighs over 5 pounds already. He is definitely a boy...no doubt about it!!

Here's a pic of his face:

Appointment Update - July 23rd

Had an appointment with Dr. Hatcher but saw a resident working with her.

Here's the stats from my appointment:

Blood Pressure: 110/68

Urine: All Good

Baby's Heartbeat: Found immediately - 134 bpm

Total Weight Gain: 2 lbs. since July 12th appointment - that's 22 lbs total weight gain at 33 weeks

Measurements: I am still measuring ahead, at 33 weeks along I am measuring 35 weeks.

Baby is now heading south from transverse position.

It's a Happy Friday the 13th

I just got a call with the date for my c-section - September 6st at 9:00 am.

We are also going to get to see baby boy again - the OB scheduled me for another ultrasound on August 3rd at 11 am. Rob will get to see the baby this time. I wasn't expecting a second routine ultrasound...but I'll take it!!

We'll have to cut our vacation a couple days short and miss a wedding to come back for it but that's all we can do about that at this point.

31 week appointment

Here are the stats from my first OB appointment yesterday:

Blood Pressure: 110/70

Baby's Heartbeat: 130 bpm

Weight Gain: 0 lbs. - it will be a week tomorrow since I was last weighed - so 20 lbs. total weight gained at 31 weeks

Measurements: I am still measuring ahead, at 31w3d along I am still measuring 34 weeks.

Baby boy is almost horizontal across my stomach - his position is like he's lying in a hammock she told me. I didn't see Dr. Pike I saw a senior resident Dr. White.

Her receptionist is going to call with my ultrasound and c-section dates.

Lots of Company

We've had lots of company this week. Mom and Dad were out Sunday and went back on Tuesday. Louise and David came out on Wednesday and Bruce flew home from Alberta last night.

Evan is very excited because he only had to go to daycare one day this week...he's on vacation.

He was shopping with Nanny and Poppy Higdon on Monday and today he is gone shopping with Nanny and Poppy Tilley. He's a very lucky boy.

Due Date is EXACTLY Two Months Away

I just realized that my due date is exactly two months away today. Since I am having a section before my due date, it's safe to say that in two months time I will be on maternity leave with Evan and "Cheesie". I can't wait!!

"Cheesie" is Evan's name for the baby this week...lol...he keeps changing his "name".

Tired!! Exhausted!! Dragged Out!!

They all apply to me today although I haven't been doing anything strenuous, well, except growing another human...lol

I am 30 weeks 1 day along and I think this pregnancy is finally catching up to me. Time to slow down and take it easy.

The first 30 weeks were great. I have a feeling the next 10 weeks are going to take a steep downhill turn.

The EXCITING thing is that in 'just' 10 weeks time baby boy will be here and this will all be worth it.

Baby Room Progress and Random Pics

This weekend Rob painted the baby's room. It came out better that I thought it would look. The colours are exactly what I wanted (light sage green and tan) to match the bedding we bought. I can't wait to see everything in the room.

Here's the 'big' brother in his baby brother's room. He helped remove the painter's tape.

Here's Bud cuddling the 'baby bump'...silly cat!

28 Week Appointment Update

Had my 28 week appointment this morning with Dr. Hatcher.

I have to get routine blood work done and a glucose test.

Here's the stats from my appointment:

Blood Pressure: 90/60

Urine: All Good

Baby's Heartbeat: Found immediately - 130 bpm

Total Weight Gain: 5.5 lbs. this month - that's 15.5 total weight gain at 28 weeks

Measurements: I am still measuring ahead, at 28w4d along I am measuring 34 weeks...yikes!!

Baby boy is still breech and doing a jig on Mommy's bladder daily.

I have to see Dr. Hatcher in two weeks and the OB on July 12th. I am hoping she will schedule a date for my section at the first appointment.

Come on 5:00 to start the weekend. Evan is home with Nanny and Poppy Higdon today and he was very excited because he didn't have to go to daycare. Roast chicken, fresh greens and veggies for supper today...I can't wait. Then, we are going shopping.

In the Third Trimester!!

Whoo hoo...I am finally in the third trimester - time is getting short, it won't be long now and we'll have our new baby. Very exciting times ahead!!

I can't wait for Evan to meet his new baby brother.

I am 28 weeks along today.

Sweets, Sweets, Sweets!!!

I have been doing good so far this pregnancy - eating pretty good and not having too many cravings...until a couple of days ago.

My sweet tooth cravings have kicked into overdrive. I hope it passes soon because I will be as big as a house and I don't want to end up with Gestational Diabetes.

But, when the craving hits, I'm afraid nothing else will do.

it's Sage Green, Tan, and Soft Yellow

Random Stuff...

Rockin' new car seat

Bumbo Chair and Tray - Nanny and Poppy Higdon
contributed greatly to this purchase...THANKS SO MUCH!!

This is more like it...

Well, it finally feels like summer has arrived here...for today anyway.

You can't beat 24 C (humidex 30 C)...if only it was Saturday...oh well, you can't have it all.

Name Update...Sort of

Well, we are 90% sure of the first name for this little one - no one will know until I deliver...just like we did with Evan.

However, we are 0% sure of a second name...

On the bright side - we're halfway there.

Picking a name is so much harder the second time around.

This and That

I am feeling good today - or as good as I can at 25 and a half weeks pregnant. I am slow moving these days and get tired easily. The stairs at work are getting harder to climb....getting ready for work in the morning is becomg more of a task, etc, etc...

It is cold out again today - it was only around 3 C this morning. We still have to have heaters on at home...it's crazy!!

We have our Systems Forum tomorrow night and Saturday. Greg and Lesley are going to babysit for us. Evan will have fun with them I'm sure.

The baby's kicks are getting stronger and stronger, not only can you feel them you can see them.

He kicked Evan in the hand a couple times last night. He thought that was pretty cool.

Evan says Good Morning and kisses his baby brother every day. This morning he sang Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star to him. It is so cute to see.

He is very excited and can't wait for the baby to 'crawl' out of my belly...lol

Since we have our work forum this weekend, next week we are picking paint colors and Rob is going to paint the baby's room next weeknd.

I can't wait to see it completed!

24 Week Appointment

My ultrasound results were there - everything is good with that - no abnormalities found, and there is definitely just ONE fetus. He was breech at the ultrasound and he is still breech, which really doesn't matter since I'm having a c-section anyway.

I had my 24 week checkup with a Nurse Practitioner working with Dr. Hatcher.

Here are the stats:

Blood Pressure: 106/58

Urine: All Good

Baby's Heartbeat: Found immediately - it was strong...not sure of the exact rate

Total Weight Gain: 3.5 lbs. this month - that's 10.5 total weight gain at 24 weeks

Measurements: I am still measuring ahead, at 24 weeks along I am measuring 27 weeks

I have some edema (swelling) in my legs and hands and she said to watch it.

We Bought Crib Bedding!!

We bought a bedding set for the baby yesterday at Toys-R-Us. It's in a Safari theme that I wanted, in the colors I like. I am so sick of blue walls. Evan's nursery walls were blue on the bottom and his big boy room has blue walls.

We are planning on painting the nursery walls Sage Green on top and darker tan on the bottom - there's a white chair rail that divides the colors.

I can't wait to see it all come together.

Now, if only we can come up with a name for this little one...that's next on the list.

Scratch Swing of the "To Get" List!!

Here's a couple pics of the Fisher-Price Aquarium Swing we bought last night off a local newsgroup. You'd swear we bought it new, it is in excellent condition. It was a bargain - I love bargains!!

Evan has fun playing with it when we brought it home. He tried every button and said that his thinks his baby brother is going to like this swing.

Evan the Athlete

We brought Evan to swimming lessons on Saturday morning. He passed the 'Sea Turtle' level and can move on to 'Salamander', but we are keeping him in Sea Turtle for a while yet. He is too young to be in the water by himself yet...perhaps when he turns 4 we'll put him in 'Salamander'. At the Salamander level parents are not allowed in the pool. There is no rush to move him up. He loves swimming - I think he should have been a fish!

After swimming we registered him for soccer - this is the first year he is old enough to play. He's going to look so cute on the soccer field in his jersey and soccer gear. His 'practice' will be two nights a week at 6 pm. That's going to be a rush, but as long as he enjoys it, that's all that matters!

Half Way There

20 weeks down...only 19 more to go. I can't believe how fast time is flying by.

We have so much to buy, paint, decorate before this little one makes his grand appearance. I am starting to feel like we are running out of time.

I just hope the second half of this pregnancy is as goos as the first half.

The mind of a 3-year-old

For the first time this pregnancy we parked in the "Expecting Mothers" parking spot.

Evan wonders out loud "Why does that duck have a garbage bag in his mouth".

This is what he was talking about: (Not the exact sign...you get the jest)

Week 20 - Appointment Update

Great appointment again this time.

Blood Pressure: 100/70 (excellent!!)

Urine: All Good

Baby's Heartbeat: Found immediately - a strong 150 bpm

Total Weight Gain: 7 lbs. - I'm 20 weeks and only gained 7 lbs. so far. I gained all those 7 pounds this month but that's ok...lol

Measurements: I am still measuring ahead, at 20 weeks along I am measuring 23 weeks

It's a BOY!!

My ultrasound went great. The ultrasound tech was very nice and pointed out all his little parts to me. It was absolutely amazing. I loved watching his little heart beat (140 bpm).

The baby waved at Evan so he was very excited about that.

Everything looks good. He weighs 10 ounces and my due date has been moved up 5 days to September 10th.

My next prenatal appointment is tomorrow, April 23rd.

Here is a pic - his profile looks just like Evan:

Tomorrow is the *BIG* Day

By tomorrow morning this time we should know if we are having one baby or a twin and the gender. I can't wait!!!

This is going to be a long day at work.

My appointment is at 8:00 am tomorrow morning.

Boy or Girl??

For fun and curiosity I completed a couple quizzes online to predict whether I am having a boy or a girl.

The results...

According to a chinese gender predictor - I am having a girl.

According to an Old Wives Tale quiz - I am having a boy.

There you have it folks, I have a 50/50 chance of having one or the other...like I didn't know that already...lol

For the record, I think I am having a boy eventhough this pregnancy is nothing like my pregnancy with Evan. Call it a gut instinct but that is what I 'think' I am having. Although I will be happy with either a boy or a girl...no preference here.

Only 4 more sleeps until we find out for sure. I hope the baby co-operates or Mommy just may go insane.

Rob took out all the baby clothes I had stored in the basement. Mom and I are going to go through all the bins and sort through it all. Sounds like a good way to pass away a couple hours to me.

Exciting Stuff...

A week and a day to the BIG ultrasound...can't wait.

Mom is coming out today so Evan is going on vacation from daycare for a week and a day. He is very excited that Nanny Von is coming to look after him while Daddy is in Toronto and Mommy goes to work. Who wouldn't want to be spoiled and doted on all day long!

Thank god she is coming out - I only have to get myself ready and out the door in the mornings. That will be a HUGE help!!

We will also do some, well actually ALOT of shopping as well. Fun times ahead!!

Easter Plans and Pregnancy Update

We are heading to Buchans tomorrow after work. Rob and I have Team Day at work tomorrow - that ends at 4 so we are hitting the road right after that is over.

The weather is going to be the pits - all weekend - that's April in Newfoundland, what can ya do!

Evan has a Hop-A -Thon for MS today at daycare and tomorrow is his Easter Party. We are making cupcakes tonight for his party tomorrow. He is very excited about the Easter Bunny!

We also have to make Easter cards and pack for our trip tomorrow.

It's going to be a busy night for sure.

No news to report on the pregnancy front. I am feeling great - that's why the second trimester is called the happy trimester I guess. The baby is moving and bouncing around from time to time.

So hungry...ALL-THE-TIME

Ok, I haven't gained any weight (yet) but I am eating all the time because I am so hungry all the time.

I eat breakfast and before we are a quarter of the way to work I am starved.

So far today I've had toast, a granola bar, two Pop Tarts, juice, tons of water and I am starved yet again.

I had soup, cheese and crackers and a bag of Sun Chips for lunch - wonder how long that will keep the baby happy.

I was never this hungry when I was carrying Evan and he was 8 lbs and 6 ozs when born.

Makes me wonder how big this baby will be. According to the large basketball (er, beachball) sized belly I am carrying around, he/she is going to be a whopper!

The Baby is Moving

For the past couple weeks I have felt the baby fluttering about in my belly but today I can feel actual kicks!!

So exciting...there it goes again!!

Sometimes you just need a sundae...

...especially when you are pregnant and rummaging through the cupboards and fridge and can't find anything satisfying to eat.

I felt like this Sunday night and my WONDERFUL husband went to McDonald's and got me a hot caramel sundae.

It was gone in a flash - but boy it was good.

16 Week Appointment

My 16 week appointment went really well...technically, I am 15 weeks and two days...

Here are the stats:

Blood Pressure: 100/70 (excellent!!)

Urine: All Good

Baby's Heartbeat: Found immediately - a strong 150 bpm

Total Weight Gain: 0 lbs. - I gained back the 4 lbs I lost so I am back to my pre-pregnancy weight.

Measurements: Measuring a large 18 weeks, when I am just 15 weeks and two days - dr thinks there is a possibility we may be having twins!!!!! The ultrasound on April 20th will tell for sure.

I'm fine either way - think it was be nice to have a twin, but I'll be satisfied with one healthy baby as well!

Evan's New Room

Evan has moved out of the nursery into his 'big boy' room. He won't even go into his old room because that's the baby's room.

Here are a couple pics of his new 'Cars' room.

Protesting Naps at Daycare

Evan has proclaimed that he is a "big boy" and does not want to take naps at daycare anymore.

But, on weekends at home he still naps up to 3 hours in the afternoon.

Every day this week he has been so zapped by the time we pick him up that he can hardly function to eat his supper...not to mention he is too cranky to look at.

We 'convinced' him that big boys still need naps - so this morning he said he was going to have a nap today at daycare. I have my fingers crossed that he is wide awake and rested when we pick him up today.

UPDATE: He napped at daycare. Miss Nina said it took 45 minutes to get him to fall asleep but he slept for an hour. He is much happier this evening.

Nachos for breakfast...

This morning I was in the kitchen with my hand in a bag of Tostitos scoops.

Rob comes into the kitchen and looks at me funny.

I said "No, I am not having nachos for breakfast, I am putting some in a baggy for work. But, don't be surprised if I do have nachos for breakfast at some point."

He agrees and walks out of the kitchen.

Last Weekend

Last weekend was great. Saturday morning Evan had swimming lessons. This child was born to swim - he loves being in the water.

We then went shopping and had a bite to eat. On the way home Evan fell asleep and we all had an afternoon nap. Evan and I slept for 3.5 hours.

The weather was beautiful on Sunday - sunny and warm ~ anything above 10 degrees celcius is warm for March.

Greg and his girlfriend Lesley came out for supper. We had the first BBQ of the year and it was so good.

Sunday morning started out with a rainbow...so pretty.

Construction Worker

Here's a couple pics taken of Evan last night. He loves pretending to be a construction worker - check out the tools handing out of his pockets and his odd work gloves.

Let's Build Something...

Blue Eyes...

14 Weeks Today

According to my pregnancy ticker I am 14 weeks along today. Where the heck did the time go? WOW!!

14 down, approximately 26 more to go!

Mud Monster

We picked Evan up at daycare and this is what we discovered....

He said "Mommy there was mud at daycare and I had fun" YA THINK!! I had to laugh because well, it was funny to see all these kids having a ball in the mud.

We undressed him on the step outside the house...he was too dirty to bring inside.

This Pregnancy so Far

This pregnancy has been going really well so far. I had very little morning sickness, a few headaches overnight that were gone by morning. I have been very, very lucky so far this time around.

The only annoyance was food aversions and loss of appetite. That is gone now too...Momma can eat again...whoo hoo!!

My next appointment is March 26st at 9:10 am. I can't wait to hear the heartbeat again.
Evan tells everybody that he is getting a baby brother AND sister. Hold up cowboy, one is enough, I am not particular about gender. I just want a healthy baby. Although twins would be fun for sure.

If we have a boy, we are all set in the clothes department. If this baby is a girl, Momma's got some shopping to do...

My ultrasound is scheduled for April 20th and Rob will be in Toronto for work. Mom is going to stay with Evan and I for the week he is away so she will come with me to the ultrasound...and Evan too. That should be an exciting morning.

80s Music

They play music over the loud speakers at work – used to be elevator music but now they play all kinds of music.

Right now it’s in 80s mode – Caribbean Queen by Billy Ocean was just on and now Howard Jones – No One Ever is to Blame is playing.

I usually put on my headphones and listen to VOCM to drown out the music, but I am kinda enjoying this 80s music right now.

Wow that was fast...

This is my first post...I've never blogged before so I thought this pregnancy would be a fine time to start.

I just set everything up in less than a minute!!!
